AccuGlide Saws

Why step cut?

When machinery is engineered with a level of precision that enables step-cutting, the results are dramatically increased cutting speeds and production, along with SUBSTANTIAL SAVINGS in tooling and motor life.

The AccuGlide makes step-cutting in granite simple, fast and easy, without ridging or chipping - truly setting it apart from other rail saws.

You NEED to know that step-cutting...

  • ...is actually faster than cutting in one pass
  • ...produces extremely clean cuts
  • ...dramatically increases production
  • ...prolongs blade and motor life
  • ...saves you BIG money in diamond tooling
  • ...is SUPER EASY to do with AccuGlide's built-in Step Gauge
  • ...is also done by precision CNC machines and most gantry saws

Making two fast, easy lineal passes in 2cm granite, or three passes in 3cm granite, is faster over the life of a blade when compared to cutting with one slow pass.

When making multiple passes, especially in harder stones, you're staying within the cut parameters of a diamond blade. The blade will continue to wear properly without being damaged due to excess heat caused by over-cutting and premature loss of diamond.

All AccuGlide Saws are capable of cutting 2 or 3cm granite in one pass, but for the above reasons we definitely discourage it. Step-cutting in granite is advantageous because it prolongs blade and motor life and allows for increased production. (Softer 2cm or 3cm stones can easily be cut in one pass).

With the AccuGlide’s absolutely precise tracking system there is no impact on the stone, leaving the edge smooth and chip free. Extremely clean step-cuts translates into faster overall production. Many fabricators who started out with an AccuGlide now own gantry saws, but still cut their seams with the AccuGlide!
